Karneth - Aerial Predator | Eternal Ascendanc
Karneth
Karneth are small predatory birds found in the upper layers of the Forest of Wrath.
They are roughly the size of common forest birds and remain mostly within the canopy, rarely descending to the ground.
They move and hunt in groups.
Their activity is concentrated around nesting areas, and they maintain awareness of their surroundings while traveling through the upper branches. They are active during the day and return to their nests by evening.
Their feeding behavior is varied.
Karneth consume insects, worms, fruits, seeds, and occasionally smaller creatures. They also feed on remains left behind by larger predators when available.
Their attacks rely on speed and repetition.
They use short, fast dashes to strike with their beaks, targeting exposed areas. A single strike causes limited damage, but repeated hits from multiple individuals can weaken a target over time.
Karneth are territorial around their nesting zones.
When alone, they tend to avoid direct confrontation. In groups, they may engage intruders that enter their area.
Their awareness is well developed.
They can sense and observe changes in aura, allowing them to judge potential threats. If a sudden increase in danger is detected, they withdraw quickly. When no immediate threat is sensed, they continue coordinated attacks.
Karneth are minor threats individually.
However, in groups, their repeated attacks and coordination can make them difficult to deal with, especially in the canopy where movement is limited.
Within the Forest of Wrath, they function as aerial-layer predators and scavengers.
They contribute to controlling smaller life forms and help clear remains within the upper regions of the ecosystem.
