Grathuun - Forest Enforcer | Eternal Ascendance

Grathuun are large, highly intelligent forest-dwelling creatures found in the deepest and oldest regions of Xylos. They do not form packs and are most often encountered alone.

They are capable of communication through link and possess awareness comparable to other intelligent species.

Grathuun are defined by their life force.

Their internal vitality is significantly higher than most known species, including other high-tier predators. This allows them to endure extreme damage, reinforce their bodies instinctively, and recover stability even under overwhelming pressure.

Their lifespan reflects this.

Grathuun are estimated to live beyond 5000 moon cycles.

Their movement carries immense weight.

Each step impacts the ground with enough force to fracture stone, displace soil, and uproot surrounding structures. This is not uncontrolled strength, but a result of their physical density and reinforced structure.

When their life force surges, their output increases sharply.

This surge is not constant. It is triggered by intent, conflict, or disruption. During this state, their strikes carry amplified force, and the surrounding environment reacts—ground destabilizes, air pressure shifts, and weaker creatures withdraw instinctively.

Grathuun can use mana across all elements.

Their control is not limited to a single affinity. Like other intelligent species, they are capable of shaping multiple elements with practice and experience.

They also use life force actively.

Life force is used to reinforce their bodies, strengthen impact, enhance durability, and amplify attacks. In advanced cases, it can be projected directly, resulting in significantly higher damage output than mana alone.

They are also capable of using dark mana.

Their usage is controlled and deliberate—primarily for advanced positioning, suppression of presence, and specialized combat applications.

Grathuun are drawn to disruption.

They do not maintain balance passively. They respond to it.

Overpopulation, unstable territories, Devourers, and Voidborne activity attract their attention. They actively engage such threats, not out of instinct alone, but recognition of imbalance.

Encounters with Devourers are especially common.

Their high life force gives them a natural advantage in these conflicts, allowing them to damage Devourers more effectively than most creatures.

Grathuun do not hunt purely for sustenance.

They act when required.

They move when something demands response.

Some observations suggest that they do not avoid combat.

In certain cases, they engage directly even when not necessary, indicating a tendency toward confrontation when facing disruption.

Despite this, they do not wander aimlessly.

Their presence is tied to regions of significance—areas where imbalance, pressure, or conflict accumulates.
