Gorrath - Ground-Aligned Apex | Eternal Ascendance

Gorrath

Gorrath, a large ground-aligned predator raising stone from the forest floor

Gorrath are large predators found within the Forest of Wrath.

They exist at the top of the local predator hierarchy within their territory.

Their bodies are built for strength and stability rather than speed.
They possess a large frame supported by dense muscle mass, with a thick outer layer that absorbs impact. Their forelimbs are used for striking, lifting, and applying direct force. Their claws are capable of breaking stone, and when standing upright, their height can reach around 390 to 400 cm.

Gorrath occupy fixed territories within the forest.
They remain within a defined area and do not roam widely. Their continued presence gradually alters the surrounding terrain over time.

They are omnivores.
Gorrath consume both plant matter and other creatures, feeding based on availability within their territory.

Stone forms through them during movement and impact.

Their mana is used directly and without refinement. As force is applied through their body, stone is generated and driven outward from points of contact. The ground fractures and rises under pressure, forming dense structures that shift with each movement.

This formation is not precise.

Stone emerges through force rather than controlled shaping. It rises, breaks, and displaces in response to impact, creating uneven terrain, sudden elevation, and obstructed movement within their range.

Their physical ability is centered on close-range force.
They crush targets through direct strength, maintain a strong grip, and withstand high levels of impact.

Gorrath are territorial by nature.

They attack when another creature enters their area and do not rely on speed or long pursuit. Engagement occurs within their controlled range, where repeated impact continues to generate and displace stone, limiting movement and forcing confrontation.

They act with awareness of their surroundings but do not use complex coordination. If the situation no longer favors them, they may disengage.

Their activity changes with seasonal conditions.

During colder periods, they reduce movement and remain inactive for extended durations. Activity increases before this period as they prepare.

Gorrath are high-risk opponents within their territory.

The ground within their range becomes unstable under continuous formation and displacement. Movement is restricted, footing becomes unreliable, and direct engagement becomes difficult. They are less effective outside this range, where terrain influence is reduced.

Within the Forest of Wrath, they function as dominant regulators.

They limit the movement of other large predators, control local population balance, and reshape sections of terrain through repeated activity. They exist as a stable part of the forest’s ecosystem and operate within its system.
