Aruvane - Ember-Fed Canopy Hunter | Eternal Ascendance
Aruvane is a heavy-bodied avian predator found in dense forest canopies, where movement is restricted by branches and visibility remains limited.
Despite its size, it does not rely on speed. Its survival depends on observation, timing, and controlled engagement.
Fire forms through its use of mana.
It uses short, controlled bursts to flush prey from cover, restrict movement, and force smaller creatures into predictable paths. Its diet consists mainly of insects and small forest-dwelling animals.
Aruvane does not burn prey completely.
Flame is applied in measured amounts—enough to weaken or kill, but not enough to destroy. This pattern is repeated consistently across hunts.
Signs of its presence appear before it does.
Scorched bark. Blackened leaves. Sudden absence of smaller life within sections of the canopy.
When directly threatened, its behavior changes.
It can surround its body in flame and drive forward with force. The impact is enough to kill weaker creatures on contact.
This action damages its own body.
Heat buildup burns through muscle and stresses internal structure. Repeated use reduces its ability to recover and can lead to death over time.
Because of this, it is not used unless necessary.
Aruvane does not pursue beyond immediate conditions.
It engages when advantage is clear and withdraws when it is not.
Within the forest, it does not assert dominance through presence.
It acts when needed—
and leaves behind evidence rather than warning.
